The Diabetic Foot: Prevention Over Treatment—Building a "Fortress of Safety"

For individuals with diabetes, feet are "high-risk zones" that require extraordinary care. Peripheral neuropathy and Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) often cause a loss of sensation and poor circulation. Consequently, minor friction, blisters, or corns can evolve into non-healing ulcers—and in severe cases, lead to amputation—long before the patient feels any pain.

I. The Three Core Crises of the Diabetic Foot

  • Painless Trauma: Neuropathy masks pain. Patients cannot feel foreign objects in their shoes or localized "pressure spikes," allowing injuries to worsen undetected.

  • Impaired Healing: Reduced blood flow prevents oxygen and nutrients from reaching wounds, leading to prolonged healing cycles and high infection risks.

  • Structural Deformity: Diabetes can trigger muscle atrophy and bone shifts (such as Charcot Foot), creating abnormal bony protrusions.

II. Aybroad’s Protection Protocol: Ultimate Pressure Offloading

In diabetic foot care, an insole is not just a support—it is a "Pressure Equalizer." Our engineering focus is to eliminate all shear forces and localized pressure:

  • Total Contact Orthotics (TCO): Our designs ensure the insole contours perfectly to the entire plantar surface. By maximizing the contact area, we redistribute body weight away from vulnerable metatarsal heads and heels, physically preventing pressure ulcers.

  • Medical-Grade Sensing Materials (Plastazote®): We utilize Plastazote®, the global gold standard for diabetic footcare. This closed-cell polyethylene foam is biocompatible and "self-molding." It conforms to the foot's unique protrusions under weight, ensuring "Zero Pressure Points."

  • Seamless, Low-Shear Interface: To protect fragile skin, we use seamless heat-bonding technology. Top covers are crafted from ultra-soft microfibers or antimicrobial bamboo fabrics to minimize friction and shear force.

  • Advanced Antimicrobial Bio-Security: Given the high risk of infection, we integrate long-acting antimicrobial agents into our materials to maintain a sterile micro-ecosystem within the shoe.
